What we do

Evidence first, then a better Utah.

We start from honest information and a simple belief: Utahns govern best when every generation understands how their government works and how to take part in it. Everything we do points back to that.

Civic education

We work to foster a healthy and engaged citizenry — starting with the civic knowledge young Utahns carry into adulthood.

Understanding

We fight for all Utahns by meeting them where they are, listening before we prescribe, and building from what communities actually need.

Building the future

Utah is consistently ranked one of the best states in the union. We'd like to keep it that way by being proactive, not reactive, about the next generation.

About UEI

Built for all of Utah.

The Utah Empowerment Initiative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Utahns who believe civic education is the foundation of local control and self-government. We're transparent about who we are and what we're doing: a small team doing the unglamorous work of gathering honest data before anyone proposes changing a single standard.
